Expiration Dates & Re-certification

Asbestos Classes - Washington State Certified

  • Asbestos Worker
  • Asbestos Supervisor

There is no longer a 30-day grace period. You must take a refresher on or before your expiration date. If you do not complete a refresher class on or before your expiration date, you have 12 months after your expiration date to attend a refresher class; and, you must also take and pass a Department of Labor and Industries exam in order to be re-certified. This exam must be taken at an asbestos training provider such as Terracon (formerly Argus Pacific) with an additional exam fee. However, if you go longer than 12 months past your expiration date without taking a refresher, you will need to retake the initial certification class.
